About P3O® (Portfolio, Programme and Project Offices)
Portfolio, Programme and Project Offices (P3O) is the latest best practice guidance from OGC. It was published in autumn 2008 and is accompanied by a qualification scheme.
A P3O model provides a decision enabling/delivery support structure for all change within an organisation. This may be provided through a single permanent office which may exist under several different names, for example Portfolio Office, Centre of Excellence, Enterprise or Corporate Programme Office.
It may otherwise be provided through a linked set of offices (portfolio office, programme offices, project offices). These offices could be permanent (enabling/supporting business objectives and consistency of delivery) and temporary (enabling/supporting specific programmes and projects), providing a mix of central and localised services.
Course Objectives
To cover the content of the P3O Practitioner syllabus and to prepare delegates to take the Foundation and Practitioner exams during the course.
Delegate Profile
Individuals newly-appointed to leading portfolio, programme or project office roles or those wishing to gain formal qualifications after a period of support office experience. (Support offices may go by many names including Portfolio Office, Centre of Excellence, Enterprise or Corporate Programme Office.) The course would be of benefit to those aspiring to manage or direct support office capability.
